@SCARLETTEDRAKE ANSWERS OUR QUESTIONS ABOUT HER ENCOUNTER WITH JAMIE DORNAN AT ADL

CQdxrUcWoAAIGbV

Ever wonder what it’s like to meet Jamie?! Does you’re heart still beat?! Do your lungs continue to fill with air?! Probably not – So we asked the lovely @ScarletteDrake about her encounter with Jamie at the Alfred Dunhill Links Pro-Am Championship on Saturday October 3rd, 2015 – and her response might just make you envy her even more!

Crissy: “Can you describe your immediate thoughts/reactions when you got your first glimpse of Jamie?”

@ScarletteDrake: “Well at first I wasn’t entirely sure it was him because he was quite far away.  He was alone and entering the clubhouse, signing something I think wasn’t an autograph but like an attendance register as the person holding the paper looked official but I don’t know.  Anyway I just had feeling it had to be him.  I’ve stared at him so long in pictures and would like to think I’d recognize him even at a distance. So my heart exploded basically when I realized that it was and I literally couldn’t breathe properly as I walked towards him.”

Crissy: “Is Jamie any good at golf? Do you know anything about the sport or were you just there for Jamie?”

@ScarletteDrake: “I don’t mind admitting I was just there for Jamie.  I have watched golf and I knew the rules (sort of) but I wouldn’t have gone to ADL for anyone but Jamie.  I think he is rather good, and despite what he says himself – he isn’t a bad golfer.  His swing is glorious to watch and he’s extremely focused when he’s playing.  Despite the number of people (girls mainly) watching his every move and managed to remain cool, calm and collected while doing it.”

Crissy: “Did you touch him?”

@ScarletteDrake: “Yes.  When I got my pic taken I put my arm around him.  My thoughts on that: Warm, Hard, Wool.”

Lisa: “Can you describe your thoughts as Jamie exited the portoloo and how he looked while he was tucking in?”

@ScareletteDrake: “Well we were standing at the 12th hole (I think I originally said it was 16th but I was wrong.  It was 12 I think.) and there was barely anyone there just me and a few other people and we were VERY close to the tee-off point and he wasn’t there.  We were all wondering where he’d gone because the other guys he was playing with were there waiting but he wasn’t.  Then we looked over and he came running out from the portaloo tucking his under-layer into his trousers.  Me and the girl I was with just looked at each other, mouth open and tried hard not to faint.  Then he just very casually resumed playing.  Right after this was when I got the infamous “Holy Experience” rear shot.  *Cue angels singing*”

Lisa: “Do you plan on returning to the ADL next year if Jamie attends again? Would you do anything or prepare differently than you did this year?”

@ScarletteDrake: “I think I’d go up again yes.  If I’m free and in the country then I don’t see why not – it’s only a few hours’ drive away.  This year was a far better experience than last year mainly because of the weather.  Scotland isn’t very forgiving weather wise for outdoor sports.  But Saturday was an amazing day all round – sunny and dry with a light breeze. And the course (Kingsbarns) was better than the Old Course (St. Andrews) – you can get far closer to the players.  I don’t know how I’d prepare differently.  Take a packed lunch?  I was starving.  I’d been up since 5:45 and had barely anything to eat.  I was surviving purely on adrenaline and Jamie.”

Lisa: “Do you have any advice for fans on how to prepare for meeting Jamie?”

@ScarletteDrake: “I honestly don’t.  This wasn’t my first time meeting him and I still wasn’t prepared.  He has a ridiculously debilitating effect on my body and mind.  It’s insane.  If you’re a calm person naturally you may be okay.  I’m not really.  But how he makes you feel when you see him in the flesh isn’t really something you can prepare for.  It sounds ridiculous but it’s just how it is.  Everyone reacts differently though, I guess. But I wish I’d been calmer. Sensible. Level headed.”

Alisa: “In your own words, what would be the best description of how Jamie smells?”

@ScareletteDrake: “Well unfortunately, I couldn’t breathe when I was next to him.  I could barely stand.  So I never smelled him.  But the woman I walked the course with (who was the woman who shouted “Love you Jamie” in one of my videos and who is my actual real life hero) said he smelled “spicy and clean”.  Another girl suggested he smelled like Tom Ford.  So the mystery remains.”

Alisa: “How was Jamie’s overall demeanor with the fans? Was he comfortable, reserved, happy to interact with them?”

@ScareletteDrake:“Okay.  This is a hard one.  Because he is VERY gracious with fans.  He stopped for every picture and every autograph he was asked for.  But there were times, like at the start when he was going out to practice which was where I met him, when he seemed a little moody.  But I genuinely think he was just rushed for time and wanted to focus on the game.  He smiled and waved at us in-between shots though and I think he tries so hard to do the right thing.  He wanted to be professional on the course but at the same time I think he realizes he is hugely famous now and that part of that is pictures and autographs.  He is quite reserved though I’d say yes, down to earth normal guy.  And observing him with the other guys between shots he looked so relaxed and happy and totally at ease.  I could just stare at him like that for hours.  I did stare at him like that for hours.”

Alisa: “Is Jamie better at putting or teeing off?”

@ScarletteDrake:“Despite the eagle at the 18th on the first day – I’d say teeing off.  If only because his swing and his body as it moves is so graceful and beautiful to watch in motion. I swear it’s like art.  I’m all hot again.”
Holly: “If you could name one thing specifically, what would you say was the absolute best part about meeting Jamie at the ADL?”
@ScarletteDrake:“Just seeing him in the flesh.  He is truly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.  Though he makes me feel unworthy. I feel so privileged to have seen him and talked to him.  He’s perfection in every way.”

Holly: “Was this your first time meeting Jamie? If so, what was the most memorable part about your encounter with him?”

@ScarletteDrake:“No it isn’t. *Hides* I met him last year and then again in New York.  I don’t have one memorable part.  All of it will stay in my memory forever.”

Holly: “How did you prepare for this experience? Were you nervous, excited, terrified? Did you lose sleep the night before?”

@ScarletteDrake: “This is going to sound weird.  I was dreading it.  Not meeting him but the way you feel afterwards.  So deflated and disappointed in yourself and quite frankly like trash!  I remember that feeling from last time and I wanted to avoid it but somehow knew I wouldn’t, or couldn’t rather!  You want to say so much to him and tell him so much and I had all of these things I wanted to say. (“Congrats on the eagle yesterday!”, “Are you looking forward to The Fall?” “Can’t wait for Anthropoid!”)  And guess what?  I said none of it.  I got out “Thank you so much Jamie, good luck with everything” and then he was gone. Then I cried all night when I got home. Instead of feeling happy that I met him I felt silly.  It’s weird as hell and I don’t know if
I’m explaining it properly but there you go!”

In @ScarletteDrake’s own words: “He is more beautiful in the flesh than you can ever imagine.  I asked a few of the other girls there and they were all basically saying the same. “He’s so lovely and kind with fans, isn’t he? He looks better than last year doesn’t he?”  He looked so relaxed and happy just chatting with the guys and I think he really loves playing the tournament.  His pro partner was a bit moody and we all started to wonder if it was because Jamie was getting most of the attention.  I feel bad about saying he was moody sometimes because he really wasn’t – he was just rushed for time at the start and this is why he looks a little grumpy in some pics maybe.  I’d say that he was the most requested star there from what I could see in terms of pics and autographs and he stopped for every single one.  Might be worth adding that the officials at the tournament were amazing.  So helpful and friendly and allowed us to get really close to him while at the same time being respectful in asking us to be quiet during shots. Also but not lastly, he is SO graceful. I don’t know how I never noticed it before. But he walks so tall and holds himself so well, broad shoulders and straight back and his Dornan Walk has been perfected into something magical. He moves fluidly and gracefully and is almost hypnotic.”

Thank you sooooo much @ScarletteDrake for answering our questions. And thank you for sharing all the lovely pictures and videos of Jamie you took during the tournament! Until next year!
