OK, SERIOUSLY.
It’s been two years since the very first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer was released?! We need to talk about this.
How can it be two years already?! I mean, come on. It was yesterday, wasn’t it?! It was the most epic day in your entire life, ever. Period. We can only speak for ourselves but it was one of those days that you just don’t forget and remember every single detail of; where you were, who you were with, what you were (supposed to be) doing, the time of day, the colour of your shirt. And you were fixated for HOURS on end showing all of your friends, blowing up social media, screaming into your pillow, showing all of your friends again, blowing up social media a bit more, re-reading the books. Did you eat, at all?! It consumed you.
You got goosebumps every time you re-watched it, even though you’ve watched it fifty times already. The music had chills dancing down your spine all the while your heart has whiplash from feelings and emotions you never thought you could feel. Dakota looked every bit the shy and naive Ana while Jamie was just lush as our billionaire CEO, wasn’t he?! You were so passionate about it. And now, super stoked.
You wondered how in the world you were going to survive another two hundred and four agonizing days before the movie came out and anticipated that time would move at a glacial pace. Great. But it’s what you would survive on until more material released. Tumblr became your best friend.
It was the first visual glimpse into a story that you fell so passionately in love with such a long time ago. It was euphoric, overwhelming, stimulating and breathtaking all at the same time. And here we are now, two years later and only two hundred days to go until Fifty Shades Darker.
We’ve come a long way and time has flown, hasn’t it?! Don’t look at another two hundred days until Darker as a burden, because it’s not. It’s a gift – an opportunity, to keep creating friends and making memories and having like minded people, who are just as bat shit obsessed with it as you are, indulge with you in it and not think you’re completely off your rocker. The best part of the ride is the journey there. So embrace it. Watch the trailer again and relive that feeling once more.
We may be a site dedicated to Jamie Dornan, but we fell in love with Fifty Shades during its infancy. When it was raw and uncut. And we love it as much as anyone else. So thank you, Erika. And congratulations on everything Fifty Shades has and is yet to become.
